Vegan vacation heaven, Malaga is an enchanting city; birth place of the world renowned artist Pablo Picasso, the historical centre is home to Roman ruins, ancient Arabic architecture and a handful of great vegan friendly eateries all within fifteen minutes walking distance to the beach!

In Malaga and throughout Spain you will see Herbolisterias, this is the Spanish term for a health food shop, most stock vegan essentials such as tempeh, tofu, gluten free products, nuts, medicinal herbs and other goodies, be sure to check them out. Malaga has a great Herbolisteria opposite the Mercado Central, the central market (Herboristeria La Central, Calle Atarazanas, 5) and inside the market itself, visit the organic stall ECO CARACOLA for organic fruit, veg and produce, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Top vegan friendly breakfast tip when traveling in Spain; pitufo de pan con tomate / pan tostado con tomate is nearly always on the menu wherever you are in Spain, hot toasted bread served with tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil, mouth watering!

Malaga’s top three vegan friendly restaurants not to be missed!

El Piano - Family owned, 100% vegan and gluten free, make sure you stop there for lunch. There is also an El Piano in York in the UK, go and check them out!

Cañadu - Vegetarian restaurant with excellent, clearly marked vegan options, definitely try the tarta de chocolate for desert!

Vegetariano El Calafate - Also Vegetarian with wonderful, clearly marked vegan options, delicious albondigas de seitan, seitan balls.
