Following the continued rise of veganism the 100% vegan street food event, GRUB ExtraVEGANza, is returning for 2019. This year the event has grown to a three-day fest with an increased number of traders appearing throughout the weekend.

The event has been organised to coincide with ‘Veganuary’ to help those embracing the new year challenge of going vegan for the month. There will be high-quality street food, amazing beers and other drinks all completely free of animal products.

Manchester has recently become a destination location for vegans with its wide range of fully vegan restaurants and cafes. GRUB added to this 2 years ago with the launch of the first ever weekly vegan street food market ‘Plant Powered Sundays’.

GRUB has curated an eclectic selection of street food traders for the GRUB ExtraVEGANza who are all creating special vegan menus for the festival. These include gorgeous Latin American food from Yakumama, stunning patisserie from Chou Choux, fresh waffles from Sugar Spun Sisters, kebabs from Seitan’s Kebab and decadent junk food from local vegan heroes Wholesome Junkies.

Alongside the incredible food available, there will also be 14 lines of 100% vegan beers from local breweries on cask and keg plus the usual selection of wines, ciders, handmade sodas, soft drinks, hot drinks and spirits.

Jules Bailey, director of GRUB said “It’s been another year of amazing vegan growth in Manchester, we’ve been blown away by the quality and quantity of new vegan grub appearing. We’re super happy to be providing a great end of Veganuary knees up to celebrate with new vegans, food fans who have been vegan for years or just folk who want to try out some smashing vegan food!”

The Grub ExtraVEGANza takes place on Friday 25th January 5pm - 10pm, Saturday 26th January 12pm - 10pm and Sunday 27th January 12pm - 6pm. The event is free entry and welcomes all comers including families and dogs.

Full details of the event can be found on the Facebook event page here.
