Toronto is nothing short of a Vegan paradise. This article could never be long enough to tell you all of the phenomenal places but here’s some favs:

 

  • Fresh – At multiple locations around Toronto. Huge, delicious, colourful salads. Plus juices, smoothies, burgers, wraps and tacos. Try the: Quinoa onion rings to start and the Clubhouse Wrap for main - Grilled tempeh bacon & seasoned crispy tofu steaks with tomato, lettuce & garlic mayo + add avocado

  • The Hogtown Vegan – Welcome to your vegan junk food dreams. Think phish & chips, mac ‘n cheese, ‘bacon’ burger, philly ‘cheesesteak’ and more. Try the: Fries supremacy to start and the Southern Combo for main – Breaded, fried soy ‘chicken’ strips, creamy mac n’ ‘cheese’, sautéed garlic collard greens with house-made bbq sauce.

  • Apiecalypse – ALL VEGAN PIZZA!! An example: “The Pig Destroyer:” Creamy garlic sauce, house hot sauce, hickory bbq soy curls, seitanrizo crumbles, secret spiced not chicken, ‘bacon’ bits, ‘pepperoni’ slices, garlic artichokes, smoked ‘gouda’, ‘mozzarella’ all on homemade, fresh pizza dough! Freshly baked ‘sweets’ also available.

  • Disgraceland – Popcorn tofu, vegan bbq ‘ribs’ sandwich, build-your-own burgers, hot dogs, vegan butter ‘chicken’ burrito, all topped off with vegan double chocolate cake. You won’t regret visiting this place!

  • Yam Chops – Canada’s first and only vegetarian butchers. Pop in and try out their Beet burgers, No pork pulled pork, tuna-less tuna, coconut ba-con, no crab crab cakes and more!

Other places you should visit: Urban Herbivore (Eaton Centre Mall), Hibiscus, Buddha’s Veg Foods, Greens Veg Restaurant, Grasshopper, Café 668, Porter House, Vegetarian Haven. The list could go on!
